                                         Your Quarter One Awesomeness!!!!

Dear ladies,

I just want to circle around and thank you all for being fabulous advocates, educators, learners, problem solvers, collaborators, communicators, and activists. On a personal level, I want to thank you for being such strong young women. You have done a remarkable job of working together, working alone, working with me, and working with others this first quarter. You have accomplished so much!

Here is a list:

1. New global ISSN multilingual signs for sustainability
2. Creating a blog
3. Maintaining a blog
4. Researching, reading, writing, quoting, citing, summarizing, responding, analyzing, questioning, and commenting.
5. Creating a reading list
6. Creating a course proposal and proposing it
7. Site visit at Cape Elizabeth High School to find new composting stations
8. Creating a power point presentation of photos
9. Measuring and explaining the geometry of new composting stations
10. Presenting new composting stations to Mr. Kehoe at PATHS
11. Writing a grant to ECO-MAINE to support our sustainability initiative
12. Working on creating, increasing, and maintaining a system for students to monitor stations in cafeteria
13. Asking GARBAGE TO GARDENS to donate t-shirts
14. Asking QUALITY SHOP AND BLACK CAT CAFE to donate gift certificates
15. Fundraising with CLYNK and bottle drive
16. Canvasing for TAR SANDS in South Portland
17. Connecting with Portland High School and OCEAN CONSERVANCY to do a beach clean up at East End Beach
18. Connecting with Portland High School to do invasives trail work with PORTLAND TRAILS
19. Organizing and executing a field trip to ECO-MAINE for freshmen and the environmental club
20. Creating a system for "take a milk, leave a milk" in the cafeteria
21. Creating a reward(eggs) system to encourage student involvement in our sustainability initiative
22. Endless communication and emailing with DHS and PPS staff

I am sure there is something that I have forgotten. I bet Hannah will think of it, or Jenny.

I am so proud of you. You have been so responsible and amenable and willing.
